I connected my usb cable to my computer but the connection icon won’t show up in the status bar and my phone won’t show up on the computer, either.

My phone – Android 7 – doesn’t have 3 dots in the upper right hand corner in the storage screen. Try starting the phone in safe mode to see if it will connect OK to a PC.
