The last security update was December LG will not unlock the bootloader so I can maintain myself. I had an LG G4 phone with the same situation.

I let my emotions get the better of me when the rogers sales rep said that I could pay ten bucks a month for two years for this paperweight.
Cannot watch videos as sometimes they are clear but most time grainy and skipping. Turns on and off at will, goes to black and white without pushing the button, LG is useless and Rogers won’t touch it.
Do your research, read reviews, spend extra money.

It has more power Octacore CPU more memory, bigger and better screen than Fire and at 8″ screen it’s nicer than my 10″ iPad in the hand, less fatigue holding it plus nicer interface, and it seems faster to me.
A perfect balance!
Ignore the other reviews by people who don’t read manuals then whine about not enough memory. With the Nougat OS you can link the SD to internal memory so you could have hundreds of apps, although why anyone would want to I’m not sure.
Cell and WiFi work great!
