I think my Galaxy has a virus and would like to reset it to factory. I have tried the factory reset on the phone and get the message No reset was performed because the System Clear service is not available.

Then I tried pushing the volume button with the power button and the phone just starts up. I tired this way at lease a dozen times holding things many different ways and go the same result.

I love this phone but just want to change what I have in it. NeaL Pradeep. I have a GT Galaxy S. I had a fatal error and now when the phone boots up it goes to a black screen. I have tryed the hard reset but it does not work or I just can see that im in the screen I have pushed the volume down 3 times to get to I think where the menue is but I still get nothing.

I tried to get in but someone changed the lock combo. I tried to follow the steps above but all that got me was the phone booting into the same irritating home screen.

I really want to remove that bloatware from the phone that tmobile installs. I have the Galaxy S and bought it outright, IE not simlocked or anything.

I bought it from a Vodafone store in NZ. There I got 3G. Moved to Aussie, changed to Vodafone au and got 3G there too. Changed to Telstra a month or so later but no 3G.

If I do a Hard Reset, will the phone remain on the latest firmware update I did? Or will it go back to the factory software version Android 2.
